Emergency Have I f**ed my car

Featured Replies

 Right only a dummy like me can balls up the fitting of my dragon tuning box. Fitted it with alot of hastle with the connector anyway tries to start the engine and it wont turn over so I have another look and try reconnecting turn engine and it starts but now I have a flashing coil light and a permanant engine light on. Took the dragon out and no change. So do I need to take it to skoda and will it be ok to drive tonight! Im crapping myself now. :(

The plug that goes onto the engine block itself, is it on properly? It is fiddly and it is where the ECU code comes from, if it cant get a signal, it will act funny.

Im sure it was. It deffo is now cause I have took the tuning box out.

Anyone with VAG-COM in your area that could clear the error codes? If they come back up after then you may well have a problem.

RE check the connectors mate. I hope that is just why it is not starting.

I had one recently that kept throughing up engine management light after removing the box the light remained on for a while. Someone on here said that if the fault had gone after approx 50 restarts the light would reset itself and it did showed no fault at dealer at a service a week later.

Hope you get it sorted.

Cheers guys

The car is back to standard and it starts but the lights stay on. I think it was because first time round the conector was not on correctly and then its logged the fault now its running ok. just hope the light goes off.

Thanks

Or as also said find someone nearby with VAG-COM.

I don't know you youngsters these days with your fandangled new things I haven't progreesed to VAG com yet considering it though. :P

Whenever I got warning lights on my Fiat, a quick disconnect of the battery did the trick and cleared them

the lights should go off this happened me once or twice wheni had a tuning box when putting iton and taking off, generally when i started the car for my next journey it would sort itself out, wouldn't worry about it too much

If it is under warrenty why not say to the dealer it happened when you were out but not sure why, bit naughty ;-)

IIRC the connector has a white 'locator line' on it to indicate the correct position.

When I DID'NT get a warning light on my Fiat I had a party !!

Yep get turning that key; I cleared the light on mine after a PSI tuning box fooked it up.
