I have volunteered to become a Director for our childrens school now that they are transitioning to an Academy.  It is a voluntary and unpaid role but it is formally registered as a company directorship.  Do I need to declare this to my motor insurers or not?

In theory, yes, as it is a change to your circumstances from when you took the policy out.

Might as well phone them and find out, just to keep yourself right.
