i have a octavia 1.9tdi reverse problam it wil go over but not up into reverse took the linkages off and it seems to be the slector on the gear box when i push it down then turn it to slect reverse it will not turn any ideas@?

also what outher gearbox codes will fit my car or is it the gqq only as it seams the boxes are the same just difrent final drive ratios?

It could be the selector fork inside the gearbox.

 

The rivets often shear meaning it won't move the forks inside the box anymore.

 

It may be cheaper to get your gearbox problem diagnosed and repaired.
