So car flew through the MOT today but, the advisory's were front near side tyre near limit on inner egde (OK new tyres were on the cards anyway) and front near side shock leaking!! So my questions are, is it expensive to replace? Do i replace both sides? What are the best replacements? Should I buy shocks and springs or just shocks?

Just shocks is fine, but you will need a pair. 

+1 ^^^^ always do them as a pair, same if you have a spring go.
