fabia 1.4tdi flashing glow plug light

Featured Replies

Hi there

this morning on the way to work I have had the glow plug light come on flashing with a workshop message,

There is no obvious performance change but after reading threads on the sudject , I got the misses to check the brake light.

she said that the 2 main lights dont work but the 3rd brake light does.

so what could this be because if the brake switch is at fault wouldnt that mean all brake lights wouldnt work?

Or does it mean that just the bulbs need changing?

Cheers

The brake light switch certainly seems to be working if the 3rd brake light is operating when the brakes are applied.

Checking the bulbs would be good idea, and if not that you have a spare bulb for future use.

So bulb holders & connectors checked as well for corrosion or a lack of good contact.

Hi there,

I checked the bulbs after work and what do you know, both were blown.

so changed them and the glow plug light has gone out.

what a strange way to let you know you got brake light fault?

Cheers
