Which bucket?

Featured Replies

I have never used grit guards before...thought they were a bit OTT.

But today I took delivery of a new bucket which was complete with a grit guard.

Question...do I use this new bucket and guard for the shampoo or for the rinse water?

Please don't tell me to get another grit guard (I will eventually, but, after all, I'm just a poor OAP) :D

Many thanks.

Mike.

I'd use it for the rinse water Mike, as that's where you put the dirty mit/pad in to rinse it, so in theory when you subsequently put it in the shampoo bucket the mit/pad should then be clean, so less need for a grit guard. Though I'm probably wrong!

where did you get it from as the grit guards are on ebay for around a fiver, I got a bucket from B&Q for about £3 if you need another or alternatively you can get another bucket and grit guard for about £12 off ebay

Hello, Ade.

I don't use ebay.

I got it from CYC. I have an acute aversion to paying P&P so I always wait till I have an order for £100+. That being the case, I'll wait till me next order and get another bucket/guard then.

Thanks for your input.

Regards

Mike.

+1. Best used in the rinse bucket as that is the bucket that gets used straight after using your mitt on the car and will see the most soil build up.

Use DW05 discount code on CYC to get 5% discount, that should offset the postage cost.

Thank you.

I use the S2KUK which also gets a 5% discount.

No...I've had probs with Amazon (is it just me! )

I'm more than content to deal with CYC.

One reason for that is they use the courier `DPD` and you can track the parcel on its way to you. It arrived today within 2 mins of when it should have. Very very useful when you have to be in to sign for it.

Mike.

No worries Mike. I use CYC as my preferred supplier too and as you say they are top notch-just thought if the grit guard was all you were after then those might have been an option for you.

cheers

Ade
