CR140 turbo ok with remap / tuning box?

Featured Replies

Whilst doing a bit of online searching with regards tuning the CR140 I've seen mention a couple of times on some Audi and VW forums that the turbo fitted to the CR140 is, or can be, rather flakey when you go for a remap or tuning box.

Anyone know if this is the case as I'm wanting to go for one of the DTUK boxes for my 60plate CR140 DSG Superb and was going to go for the CRD-t version but if there are possible issues with the stock turbo I may change my mind and go for the CRD2+ which only connects to the common rail sensor.

Any info would be much appreciated.

Cheers

Dave.

i had my cr170 remapped and its fine certinaly handles the power, but the 170 cr may have the saame turbo just with a different mapping on it. aslong as the tuning box is not overboosting the turbo id say it would be fine.  And its all down to how you drive etc etc

As far as I know the CR170 has a bigger turbo than the CR140.

yes the CR140 turbo is KKK BV40 and CR170 one is BV43 (I have a brand new one for sale if anyone is interested in such upgrade)which is good for up to 220-230bhp
