2008 audi A4 tdi same engine as my 2009 octavia vrs tdi?

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

Wondering if you can help? So it looks like due to a change in circumstances I need to buy an estate. I'm looking at the old shape tdi A4s as for around £10k seem to get hell of a lot of car that get than a base level SE facelift.

Was just wondering, like my octavia vrs is a CR diesel, would a late 08 old shape audi tdi 2.0 be the same engine?

Also, chance of a quattro version... Prob obvious question, but is it worth it over a 2wd?

Cheers for any advise, don't know loads about the Audi's.... Yet!

Like the Skoda this car will come in a range of TDi engine. there will be a few 1.9PD's about but expect most will be 140 or 170 bhp 2.0 TdI's.

Quattro is more about want than need (unless you live up a mountain) so only you can decide!

For a value for money or even 'Much Cheapness', maybe check out the 'Seat Exeo Estate TDI' or Saloons. (143 ps / 170 ps)

These pretty much are a Audi A4 with the good and reliable VAG bits.

Personally i prefer them to the Audi, but just have not found an Automatic one at the right price yet.

Looking regularly though.

Thanks guys, think I really fancy a quattro to behonest. Some great very high spec s lines models on a 08 for 10k with decent mileage.

So, the engine, will it be the later CR engine? Or earlier PD engine like how the skoda changed on facelift? I can't work it out...

Cheers

Mike

A google will show road tests from that period, then more recent owners opinions and experiences.

Just a case of finding a good one that you like and with the right price.

Some pretty shoddy 'S-Line' Audi about,

even 'S-Line' new demonstrators on the forecourt can look ropey when you look at discs, Calipers etc.
