Featured Replies

I'm looking at at 2006 petrol octy rs with 68k miles on the clock next week and was wondering if the briskoda collective have any pointers for me? Anything I need to ask or look out for?

Cheers

Anyone? :)

Make sure aircon is working, very common for compressor to fail around £500 to replace

Timing belt and water pump at that age/mileage.

Nothing else to worry about ?

Check spare wheel well for water ingress after its been raining. Even if its dry have a look for evidence of corrosion on the jack or spare wheel. Sometimes its a pain to sort out the leak.

Oh, and look closely at the sills behind the front wheels. A few people on here have reported corrosion on that age of car.

Cheers for the pointers folks :)

Rusty sills just above the stone chip paint, paint seams around door edges and the boot. That's why I punted my 07.

Check service book with receipts. Engine should still run like new at that age mileage.
