Hi. My key suddenly doesn't fit into the ignition barrel of my 5th late Octavia. Like it's the wrong key. So car won't start. Battery ran out on key after 7 years so been using the spare (previously unused) for a fortnight. Is this connected to the problem? Thanks.

Hello. I had this problem also. There a small dust cover in the barrel which retracts when the key is inserted. This got stuck on my car and I had to a screw driver with a fair bit of force to get it to ping back open. It maybe that is the issue?
