Brake calliper rewind tool.

Featured Replies

Can someone advise on which one I should get?

I like getting my hands dirty and working on my own cars bit have stayed away from brakes as I know they need to be done right. But after a few years of watching a friend who is a mechanic take care of my brakes I want to start doing these my self too.

Been looking on fleabay for rewind tools and there is a choice of boxes or simply just one tool?

Which one should I go for?

I should have stated that I am doing the rear brakes.

I bought the singular one pictured as I'm a tight arse!

It was rubbish and didn't fit very well :(

I bought the first one pictured, and it was easy to use, and worked very well when I did the front and rear brakes last weekend.

All the different adapters mean you can find exactly the one needed.

Using the tool is much easier than faffing with a G-clamp on the fronts too.

That kit is a great price, I paid £12 just one a single fitting that fits the back callipers of my car, that kit is way better value though thinking in future terms when you swap cars.

I use the same tool on the front also, even though its designed to wind back the back, it worth recall well on the front also if you just use one of the old pad as a press between the piston and the calliper wind back tool then just wind it back and it pushes the front piston back with ease, but looking at that kit you have everything you need for both front and back.

Thanks guys, I will go ahead and purchase my self the top one now.

The kit actually comes with a non-slotted adapter for use on the fronts that just need to slide back.
