Identifying the correct bulbs for your car

Since Skoda have stopped including bulb types in the owners handbook, identifying the correct bulbs for your car usually involves taking those fitted out first.

However just come across this useful site provided by Osram automotive;

http://am-application.osram.info/publish/index_en.html

Put your car details in and it comes up with the bulbs required, including legal upgrades from their range.

Fitted nightbreakers yesterday (took them out the Octy) and ordered some w5w cool blue sidelights to reduce the now obvious yellow effect of the standard factory sidelight bulbs, as I've noticed they are on with the dipped and main beam. Also supposed to increase the lighting; will see.

Didn't want to go LED, prefer to use upgrades of the OEM spec.

The Osram web-site is interesting but sometimes uses obscure model codes that many owners won't know and referred to my past car as a Civic Sport when it was a Type-S.  Quoted the wrong headlamp bulbs for my wife's car.  So use with caution.  Many bulb suppliers' web-sites offer a similar facility.
