Superb mk2 Columbus firmware upgrade near Manchester

Featured Replies

Having just got my 11 plate superb I am after the latest firmware upgrade for the Columbus unit.

I have looked at the vcds map but it seems a little out of date. Money/beer tokens waiting!

Thanks

I have discs I can post if you promise to return them and cover postage.

Will need to know part number, HW & SW off the label (not the screen) to see if I have suitable discs.

You shouldn't need VCDS if it is just firmware updates.

Okay brilliant I will happily cover postage. Sorry for my lack of knowledge but where is the label located and what does HW and SW mean?

You'll need to remove the Columbus a little (remove fascia, undo four torx screws) and have a look at the sticker on the casing.

All the instructions are in the Superb or ICE sections on this forum.

You won't need to unplug anything to do this.

Take a photograph of the sticker and post it here.

HW = hardware

SW = software

These will be the factory versions as opposed to any software / firmware upgraded ones from the screen (you may be able to check these by holding down the 'Setup' button to get to the 'Radio' menu and choosing the third option in the list: if it is there).

Hopefully the above sticker means that your discs will be suitable for my columbus unit.

Thanks

Well done for getting that out and posting it here.

Here's mine:

As yours is newer than mine, I'm confident that my discs will work for you. Although both started with the same firmware... Yours is 8 months newer than one and on a much higher hard ware (HW) version.

I'll PM you to get your contact details.
