possible bluespark issue? or something else

Featured Replies

Id like to run this past everyone please more so the bluespark box users. I have noticed that going from 5th to 6th in manual if im not booting it under full boost that when the gear changes and i have my foot on the accelerator it seems as if there is a loss of power then picks up again?? My car is in for a service in 500miles. Is this dodgy plugs or something else. Might remove it and see if it does it standard without the bluespark box just noticed it since i done the centre exhaust silencer delete. Anyone else experienced this... ive noticed it couple times in drive and going from d3 to d4 a pause in acceleration. 18000miles due service soon. No idea condition of plugs which i thought maybe the cause.. the dyno run i had showed no loss in power and fueling was fine. Comments welcome

Changing Spark Plugs for better than standard ones would be an idea just because you are running the Tuning Box.

There might well be a plug on its way out on Cylinder 3.

Thanks george. Uprated ones can you get off the shelf at your local auto store or need to order in from somewhere? And you recommend?

I recommend DENSO ones that will cost you twice as much for 4,  about £64 at a Motor Factors.

They will probably need to get them in.

I think they are well worth the money.

worth it if they are quality and not going to burn out. Standard ones defo a no from problems people get just with standard tune. Il look them up

Denso plugs £12.60 @ eurocarparts

What revs?

Accelerating hard in a high gear this could be DSG protecting itself in conjunction with the ECU due to high torque through the clutch at too high a gear. Or clutch slip?

Upgrading the lower engine mount may also solve, this could be sog in the stock mount flexing under torque slowing the gear change?

I never noticed any problems on stock CTHE accelerating from any gear and any RPM above stall rpm - goes smoothly all the way in manual mode.

i went for these when i had a bad misfire, gapped to 0.6. cured the issue, but i think i have a dying coilpack somewhere upon startup it feels like plugs are fouling,

so im going to be changing all 4 just to be safe in the next few weeks.
