Replacing sump tomorrow what's beat thing to use to clean the two surfaces up and is there a gasket or is it just sealant thanks ash

The gasket comes in a tube as a paste.

I find the best thing to use is a wire brush on the sump if just cleaning it out or changing the oil pump etc... If it's a new sump it will be clean anyway, maybe give it a wipe with part cleaner if you want to be 100% sure.

As the engine block, I have a thin scraper from snap-on about an inch wide, I normally use that to get the thick off and use silicone removal spray and a rag to get the rest off.
