New octy collection - what to look out for?

Featured Replies

Aside from checking the dealers haven't scrubbed it with a scouring pad, is there anything worth double checking on a 1.6tdi SE dsg before I sign my life away?

Also - am I getting a 6 speed or 7 speed DSG? I've read some conflicting stuff...

Thanks!

The website says:

Two coaxial wet multiple-disc clutch, electro-hydraulically operated

So I think this means 6 speed :)

Check they have removed the suspension transport blocks.

Ah, the clue being "wet". Thanks - good spot!

Check they have removed the suspension transport blocks.

I assume it'll be pretty obvious if I look under the wheel arch? Not sure what these look like.

1.6TDi is the 7 speed Dsg only the 2.0Tsi and the 2.0TDi get the 6 speed Dsg

Page 40/41 of the brochure has all the gearbox info in detail.

I can see the confusion... the website implies 6 speed, the brochure states 7.

I have gone for a petrol personally so don't have direct experience!

Odd innit. Would prefer the wet clutch version, having had a faulty dry clutch version before. Ho hum.
