Octavia VRS Servicing.

Featured Replies

I have my VRS serviced by a Indi every 10K miles which includes Oil ( Shell 507 spec ) oil filter and air filter.

Then every 20K I have the same again as above + fuel and pollen filter.

I drive my car hard/spirited most of the time and also run a Shark stage 1.

My question is should I be replacing the fuel filter every 10k miles for the price of a couple of £ or is 20k more than okay?

I've had a quick search for the interval but haven't found any definite answer.

Thanks.

Mine was every 20k. Didn't think it was such an issue on petrols.

I have just had the fuel filter done on mine last week along with oil and filter and fitment of k and n panel filter :)

Fuel filter was first done at about 40k then it's just been done at 68k

Mine is a diesel btw

But no real set interval then? I guess I'll stick with 20k then :)

The service interval for the fuel filter on the PD170 is something close to 60,000 miles, if you are replacing at 20,000 miles you'll be fine.

I thought it was 40k, but I might be wrong.

Okay guys thanks! For the couple of quid it cost, every 20 is fine :)

Is it a pain to change the fuel filters on the170?

A few moons ago I had a Mondeo tdci and the car wouldn't start after changing the filter! The garage had to tow and jump start it in the end!

Then another time my fuel filter was changed, on a BMW, after the garage changed it I got hesitation problems.

Just seems to be more problems than their worth...
