2010 2.0 CR Octavia Scout P2454 code fault

Featured Replies

I have had the exhaust warning light appear on the Scout:

and, using a friends scanner, have the code P2454 - DPF differential pressure sensor fault:

https://flic.kr/p/oCcVq5

https://flic.kr/p/oBXVv2

after a search for for sensor location, I believe that it is located here:

https://flic.kr/p/oCeAEP

If this is the correct sensor, examining it shows that there is one pipe coming from what I believe is the DPF, and one that is open to the air (marked with a red line on the picture):

https://flic.kr/p/oCcVpo

This seems curious, as the circuit diagram I have found (from here: http://www.volkspage.net/technik/ssp/ssp/SSP_336.pdf) shows it as a closed circuit with a pipe from each side of the DPF:

https://flic.kr/p/okKa3m

If this ISN'T the correct sensor, could someone show me where I should be looking, as I'd like to be sure that it isn't a faulty connection before changing it.

Cant tell you exact location but try tracing the two pipes from front and rear od DPF.

You cant just change the sensor it needs to be calibrated with VCDS.

Yes that is the right sensor the later ones use atmospheric pressure as a base line rather than the early ones that took a pressure from both ends of the dpf as stated above replace sensor blow out hose to the dpf and do basic settings (calibrate) the sensor with vcds
