Fabia II MDI - I sound like a broken record

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

I have used this website as a source of information for my last Fabia I VRS. I went away and have now come back and picked up a Monte Carlo using this forum (as my brother is a member with his VRS Octavia)

I know this is a fairly common thread however I cant find an exact answer so I will ask and hopefully someone can link me in the right direction..

I have a 2012 Monte with the MDI system and the micro USB Cable. I have an Android phone. I know I cant play music from it... however is there a way I can trick the MDI into thinking my S4 Galaxy is a hard drive and play the music that way? Or have I just got a very short, £20 phone charger?

Cheers

Jon

No way at all, the phone does not present itself as a mass storage device.

Best bet is to get a self powered external HDD, copy your music to that and use this with the MDI instead, or a memory stick with music.

Thanks guys!

I went back to the dealer with the Micro USB cable (as its essentially an expensive charger cable) and they exchanged it for the female USB cable.

I will just make do with a USB stick. Thanks guys!!!
