Hands free kit

Featured Replies

I have just had a new company phone Nokia 6230i + nokia car kit.

My question is there a lead available to enable the stream to mute and for the sound to come through the speakers?

I don't fancy the supplied speaker cluttering up my pasenger footwell. this was ok when i had a zafira but the Octy well will look cluttered with it in.

Anybody know about this?

2.0 FSI Corrida Red ESP Maxidot +Light thingy

My Nokia handsfree kit is wired into the back of the stereo unit and mutes the radio sound when using the phone.

Phone comes through the radio speakers and volume can be adjusted with the radio **** or the steering wheel buttons.

Yes it is possible and i think the octy 2 uses the same lead as the mk 5 golf and if it does the soundlinx part is a VW01NOK if i remember correctly or you could check on there website for confirmation

Had the Nokia CK-7W car kit fitted to Octy Elegance with standard Stream radio. If you cut off the standard nokia footwell speaker there is a black (-) and a red (+) core. The label on the Stream stereo is marked up where these two wires go. If you also connect the radio mute wire, when the phone rings it displays PHONE on the stereo and plays sound through ALL the car speakers. Excellent sound quality.

So no additional harness is actually needed then?!

There is a harness available from VAG, but there is precious little room to install it. Merely connecting the wires does the job just as well, and without the hassle.

I downloaded the manual for the Parrot CK3100 as i'm considering getting one and noticed 2 ways of connecting up the unit.

One way used ISO connectors to break into the speakers and power/mute connection before they connect to the HU like my current Sony HCB-300 does.

The other (prefered) way uses a line in cable directly to the HU and and a connection to the HU mute input. Are you saying that this connection is actually available on the stream HU? It would explain how you can control the call volume via the HU volume control.

Sorry for the delay golfturbo...... No harness is required at all.
