Tow bar fitting - any recommendations in Scotland

Had our Yeti a few years now. Sadly we never took the option to install a tow bar at the time.

Having done some research on here I've looked at DIY options, but I'm not confident in my ability to do this work myself.

Has anyone had a tow bar installed in Scotland since they bought the car? If so who would you recommend and roughly what cost should I be budgeting for?

Thanks in advance.

My three Octavia vRS's and my Yeti all had their towbars fitted at Buchans at Newbridge near Edinburgh, they also have an outlet in the Glasgow area I think.

All were fitted with fixed towbars, the first two with twin electrics, the second  two with a fully functioning 13 pin socket.  All were well used as we make 14+ trips a year with our caravan, no issues with power to fridge, battery charger or Alko ATC.

Costs varied but from memory the Yeti, in March 2012, was around £300, all arranged by my dealer West End Skoda who may have got preferential rates!

Have used Indespension and Parks of Hamilton (when they had a caravan dealers) in the past.  No issues with Indespension but would avoid Parks if indeed they still fit towbars.

Can't help with Scotland, but got a quote recently for a Witter bar with single electrics at my local Witter approved towbar specialist and it came out at £500 incl VAT. Electrics are the biggest item unless you had Skoda towbar prep specified when it was new as that places a plug at the back and a cutout in the bumper which makes installing the electrics and bar easier.

Thanks for all your responses. I will do some searching based on your recommendations. Not sure if we got the two bar prep. Will try and dig out paperwork, unless it is something I can easily check on the car.

If you have the prep, there will be a blanking plate under the bumper ready to allow the tow bar to be fitted. If you have a removeable ball fitted, then the blanking plate can be replaced when the ball is removed.

I've used Buchans at Newbridge too - but apparently the guy that West End used to use has now set up on his own as a mbile fitter, don't have his details but could find them out if you wanted them.
