Ive had my cambelt/tensioner/water pump replaced (Octavia Vrs) but when i picked the car up i noticed a screeching noise (like a fan belt noise) when i pulled off or just stabbed at the accelerator.

It was alot worse with the aircon on from start up.

The mechanic put it down to the drive belt and replaced it free of charge as i stated it wasnt like it before i brought the car in to have the work done.The screeching seemed to have gone but now ive noticed its coming back but not as bad.

Has anyone had this problem and if so how did you solve it as its starting to cheese me off.

Could well be a cover not fitted correctly which is rubbing on the belt.

Or maybe the aux belt tensioner didnt like being moved about and needs replacing.
