SD card mp3 help

Featured Replies

Hi does anyone know what could be causing this?

I changed songs on my iTunes to mp3 format and copyed them to a 32gb SD card. Stuck it in my 2009 Limited edition vrs and I get this displayed? Any ideas, does it maby just not like iTunes music ?

There's a few reasons - firstly technically the front SD card reader isn't (according to the manual) able to accept cards over 2Gb. Secondly the card has to be formatted to Fat32. Thirdly it could be the format of the files. There are a lot of threads on various work arounds and fixes here if you search.

Hope this helps,

Dave

I had similar issues at one time even though I was using a 2Gb card formatted to FAT32. Since I formatted the same card using the SD Formatter problems seem to have been resolved (no more errors). I can't say for certain that was the issue as previously I'd always formatted SD cards on the PC without issue, but it might be worth trying. As PC Dave says there could be other factors.

Cheers it was formatted with fat32. Think it was something to do with changing to mp3 on iTunes . Hopefully sorted it but can't try till my girlfriend comes home with the car later. I got a 32gb one from reading other threads here. Maby need to change to a 2gb one if still no joy.

How much songs would a 2gb roughly hold ?

Depends on the size of the files. I'd guess on average 4mb per file, so 400-500 files?

Thanks for all the replys I managed to sort it. iTunes couldn't convert all to mp3 so had left a few as mp4 and that's why the car couldn't read it. All sorted now tho

i have a 32 gb in mine working
