I have been asked to look at a Golf with VCDS. The problem is as follows.

 

 Arrive at destination, turn car off, get out and lock it, walk away...... within minutes the radio switches itself on quite loud.

 

 Unlock the car and it can turned off by the normal button.

 

 Any ideas what I need to check with VCDS or is it something completely different not requiring VCDS?

Think this is a software update problem with the cd mechanism if it is a recent golf - i.e double din, a friend had this and was cured by a software update

Thanks for the reply, I will get it plugged in on Saturday and see what comes up on VCDS

as far as I know the firmware update is known to vag dealers for this problem.
