Paint peeling from bonnet

Featured Replies

So a friend of mine borrowed my car for a week whilst I was away and they thought they were doing me a favour by getting it washed before returning. Unfortunately, they put it through an automated carwash. Now there's paint peeling from the top edge of the bonnet, exposing a beige coloured under layer.

The problem is, with cam belt replacement, MOT, tax and possible DPF change coming up soon, I really can't afford to pay circa £200 for a bonnet respray. Any suggestions as to how I can stop the flaking from getting worse? It wouldn't bug me that much, but it's facing me whenever I'm driving!

A touch up kit will help seal the edges and reduce further paint flaking. It will also help hide the primer from showing through although not perfect it is a cheap quick fix.
