blow off valve/dump valve

Featured Replies

what are people opinions on fitting these to the Vrs?

had various other turbo'd cars and have always fitted them the previous owner said he fitted one but kept getting the eml showing loss of turbo boost so

they took it off

Needs to be a recirculating DV as thats how the engine is designed to work. If you put a full vent to atmosphere DV on youll get the EML on and possibly limp mode. Thats about it really

I've got this to fit is it any good? 2f1a457308fca84af510484ed64e97e7.jpg

No it is a BOV a vent to atmosphere. The VAG 1.8t cars do not like these and as stated above need a recirculating valve. A closed loop valve.

There crap also probe to failure

Best DV is a new oem one

Isnt the forge 007p the one alot of people go for?

always thought bailey was a good one to use?

missing myvrs do you mean one from skoda?

Simon

Yes they would be the right ones.

Yes the Forge is the best aftermarket DV for the VAG cars

Bailey DV are ok. A lot of DV's are not always very well sealed especially cheap none branded ones.

Clive's point is as those are second hand you can not guarantee the seals inside are still up to the job. Even good known branded can fail

And yes he means the Skoda OEM DV.

These have been beefed up in recent years and are the best all round DV for good seal and running the rest are just for show.

Forge brands can benefit by using stiffer springs that can control turbo boost presure venting better in higher mapped cars

If your car is standard or running stage 1/2 map then stick with a OEM one tbh. More than upto the job. Some aftermarket ones are good and nice and shiny so might be of benefit if you plan on having the bonnet up at shows etc..

Nothing wrong with the standard DV, & only £25ish from TPS.
