A bluetooth 3C8035730D question

Featured Replies

Hello again from Athens Greece,
I just bought a 3C8035730D bluetooth module, plus harness, mic, rSap antenna, foam protective etc
I already retrofitted in my Skoda Octacia II VRS (2008, pro-Face Lift) with a recent (2014 LED) Columbus unit.
Unfortunately (did not think it through, or read carefully all those, 100s of 1000s of posts) I do not have Maxi Dot.

Will I be able to fit the bluetooth and pair with the phone? My VRS does not have a multifunction wheel, but I am ok

operating the phone via Columbus. I have an iphone 5s, so no rSAP here, but I hope I can get basic phone functionality.

any thoughts/help?

(please be gentle, especially if the only solution is to to go and do a Maxi Dot upgrade....)

Even if you did have maxidot I don't think it would work with a pre-fl car.

I have a feeling you have to put the kit into another car to pair then put back in yours.

Phil is correct unless you also buy a polar BT box (or full auto polar box). Its quite a pricey solution though at 120 euros.

Even then though you need maxidot for the pairing as you say, but you could alternatively set the pairing in a facelift car or Superb with BT by swapping the module to yours temporarily. It will then remember it. That needs a co-operative friend though.

If it were me, I would sell the BT unit on here (there should be a market) and buy a 7p6 035 730 k or above or 5k0 035 730 d or above unit. That can be paired from the phone and uses the same loom. It also has the same functionality as the 3c8 if using an iPhone.

Thanks Adam and Phil for the useful info. I found a 7p6 035 730 k and a 5K0035730F, what is the best option (almost same price) ??

Loom, car mic, Foam protection etc I can use from the 3C I bought, correct?

And when I buy any of the two, I will not need the maxi dot to pair or MFSW to use, and  I can use the phone/bluetooth via the RNS 510, correct?

Need to go shave my legs now -->must find somehow the extra 100 euros for the bluetooth ;-)

Will try to sell the 3C module, at the cost of the other one I will buy, hope its a fair price

They are effectively the same unit so it doesn't matter. The same loom you already have is fine and 100 euros is definitely a fair price for the 3c8 unit! It will work by pairing from the phone end and integrate with your Columbus as you say.

I'm looking for a 3C8035730D module, have just PM'd you.

Cheers,

Finally, bluetooth 5k0 035 730 F installed, programmed and is working fine! No maxi dot here or MFSW, so all is done via RNS510

Quick question if anyone can help:

Of course, the Greek names of my phone address book did not transfer corrently (have an iphone 5s). When I entered in the RNS510 some quick dial numbers, I saw that in the keypad, I could swap from English to <another language>, probalby Polish or similar (must be from the origin of the RNS510).

Is there a software upgrade, CD or whatever I can buy, so to have English/Greek and hopefully have my address book display correctly?

Edited by Sterg

Unfortunately, the RNS510 doesn't support Greek language.
