brakes & Filter

Featured Replies

Hi there

Getting to the stage of changing pads on my Octy 2.....Anything i need to know about getting this done? Want to change to Black Diamond pads (had them before and good)

Also.... May be stupid question but do diesels have airfilters like normal petrol cars and does getting one like a green air make much difference?

Out of interest what mileage have you done, as I've covered about 22k (mostly m-way) and the pads are only about 1/2 worn.

Lift your bonnet and between the battery and passaenger side h/lamp is a rectangular box with about 6 screws around the edge. Your airfilter element is reached by undoing them and lifting the lid.

I put a K&N filter in mine ; I think its helps engine breathe easier at higher revs but these things are subjective, if you type in K&N or Green Filter in the search box on this forum you'll be reading all night.

cheers for the reply... Ive done about 14k miles so far and can feel the performance of them getting a bit less... (used to black diamond pads @ disks on Fabia) Just wanting to do some investigation before its needed :)

Might try the airfilter as seemed to make a diff on my old car...

By the way is yours on variable servicing? if so what milage did yours go for service?

Cheers

Andy

Yes variable , 1st service was at just under 19k. Had the software update for the Stream radio done at the same time but haven't noticed any difference.
