Loads of white smoke under boost!?

Featured Replies

Hi there,

Wondering if anyone could help at all? Ive got A MK1 VRS with 76 thou on the clock and everytime I boost it loses power and chucks tons of white smoke out the back!

I have checked all the vac pipes and they are all fine, it is burning that much oil that it has fouled my pre lambda up!

Haven't a clue what to look at next? somehow the oil is being sucked in? I changed the dv and was still the same.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

White smoke tends to be water, blue smoke oil. How's the coolant level?

Had this problem a few weeks now, just trying to keep off boost. It is definitely oil as have lost no coolant during that whole time! Smells like oil too :s

If I start it a few times then the oil in exhaust burns off and can drive fine off boost

Sounds like turbo seals have gone. Time for rebuild or replacement.

Hmm, is there any way I can prove that its the turbo?

Turbo for sure

New turbo needed and a full clean of all boost hoses and intercooler

Where abouts are u

I guarantee it will the oil seal that have gone check the shaft for play mine was that bad it looked like my car was a fog machine

I hope people won't mind me doing this:

I have a ko3s for sale: 75k on the car when turbo was removed in order to fit a hybrid. No play (2mm as dry stored)

Has been stored for a while and haven't bothered putting it up for sale but I'd like it to stay in the skoda community
