Help with a couple of questions....

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have a 06 L&K 2.0 TDI DSG and have a couple of questions:

1. What flywheel came standard - single or dual?

2. Where can I find out when the cambelt was changed last?

Cheers..

1. Dual mass flywheel as standard.

2. Hopefully the service book in the glovebox is stamped and up-to-date. If so (and the cambelt box isn't ticked) ring the dealers who have performed the services and ask them if it has been done.

Also Skoda UK do have access to some of their dealers service history so you could also try them (08457 745745, option 4).

Any receipts or invoices included with the purchase of the car?

The interval for the cambelt replacement is time and distance based. Skoda UK run to a blanket 4 year interval (regardless of mileage), the mileage limit varies by car / model / engine and will be mentioned in the service book. Again Skoda UK can provide this if you ring them with your VIN or reg number.

Right got a new question:

I have auto dimming and heated wing mirrors.

My right wing mirror has decided it wants to stay permanently dimmed.

Any ideas why/how?

Assuming the left mirror and rear view mirror still perform as expected then you can at least rule out the sensors on the rear view mirror.

Sounds like a duff mirror glass? A bit of a problem I'm afraid as they aren't cheap, £192 from a main dealer and that was last year...
