Kia Optima 2.4 GDI and VW Polo Bluemotion

Featured Replies

Thought would do 2 tests as recently have driven the Optima whilst in the USA (not quite a Dodge Charger but hey it was comfortable and better on fuel) and secondly driving to Pembrokeshire in a bluemotion Polo tomorrow!

The Kia was actually surprisingly good, the engine was quite willing and seemed to be fairly economical coupled to a six speed automatic box, first time of driving an auto for an extended period of time, the box was generally good over long distances but seemed to struggle at lower revs upshifting really quickly to save fuel and then when needing to accelerate seemed to dawdle about.

The engine was nice, quite gutsy and not bad on fuel averaging 35mpg. Overall not to bad a car,

Will update when have driven the Polo!

Cost me 1.27 to go on friends insurance as a named driver but then with a £15 admin charge!
