Tesla Model S

Featured Replies

Spotted one of these on a drive near by yesterday and I think they look lovely! Never seen a tesla before in the UK. All electric and considering they start at £50k and go right up to around £70k, I'd imagine most people in the uk would go for a German hot saloon instead for that kind of money.

Lovely.

If you were a Tesla Salesperson you might well drive one rather than a Carbon Burning bahnstomer.

& there are Tax Advanteges for Business users in getting the Tesla.

Of course! They probably sell well in places like California, but I just thought at this time in the UK people haven't jumped onboard electric cars enough to spend that kind of money on one. Quite impressive range and performance though.

there are some interesting "buts" to this story (was it edited by the BBC or the Graun' ? (BBC boot camp)  or just more "me Too" sloppy journalism  --  whilst the number is correct the approx number needing work is thought to be little more than 50 -these are as a result of use in extreme cold and subject to use  in areas where non sodium salts are used for road gritting,   as the units are Bosch apparently they will pick up the bill  otherwise more than enough bad news this week

So is it a DVLA / DVSA / DfT 'RECALL'  Safety Critical with Registered Keepers having vehicles recalled.  or a TESLA agreed voluntary recall.

Obviously all TESLA Registered Keepers has EMAILS.  Or maybe they will call, write, knock the door.

Pity the DVLA / DVSA / Dft changed the RECALL Checker in the UK so now you need to put in a Registration Numbers.

You used to be able to check Manufacturers Models and built between dates.

The UK Agencies are very helpful to manufacturers.

Maybe they should bother more about road users and others that are not just a cars owner.

If a TESLA hits you you might want to know if it should have had a 'Recall',  as in a Field action.

don't be silly it's a bank holiday:D  give them a few weeks and the penny may drop:sleepy:--needless to say the info wasn't in the article(unless I missed it) - however re the vehicle checking I think you have a valid point  --what's the position vis a vis  insurance in in the case of a "recalled" vehicle that hasn't been back to the stealers ??    this may be a box best kept locked--there must be thousands over the years still on the road

?

Do they have the facility to have the message appear in the car ' SAFETY CRITICAL RECALL, HURRY UP AND SLOW DOWN AND COME ON IN'.

Skoda are simply clever, they will have that

'UMBRELLA MAY BE REQUIRED'.  SAFETY CRITICAL RECALL, DO NOT DRIVE, BOOKING MADE FOR 4 WEEKS TIME'.

as I understand the steering is still operable,  if it wasn't the car would message and eventually stop-----I hear the e mails went out this morning to those concerned--would be interesting to know how many actually need work or if they will do them all,  as it's 3 bolts and about five -10 minutes

So is it a TESLA recall then?,

not an actual RECALL as one might expect with the DVLA giving the Registered Keepers Contact Details.

Yes, that's my understanding----maybe the "mother ship" will  "delist"  the defaulters
