Idle issue - pulsing/misfire

Featured Replies

Hi all, had this issue pretty much since i have had the car but it seems to come and go but I think its happening more now! I have the 2.0 Petrol with DSG, its had the spark plugs and air filter replaced at the last service which made no difference.

When I am in heavy start stop traffic, when I come to a stop, the idle starts pulsing up and down, I get a shiver (misfire?) from the engine and the DSG flashes from D1 to D and back to D1 when its doing this. If I lift my foot from the brake or tap the gas peddle it stops. About twice since I have had it, it has stalled when doing this. If I shift it into N it still does it.

The local dealer changed the clutch pack a few years ago but it made no difference. I have a warranty and VCDS (shows no faults) but before I take it in, I'd like some ideas on what it could be and if I could have a go at fixing it. It doesn't matter whether the AC is on or if its hot or cold. I have used V Power and supermarket gas, no change. Thanks!

Faulty throttle pedal sensor perhaps.

check ya breather hoses mate sounds like a leak
