Virgin mobile data outage

Featured Replies

Anyone else suffering with the virgin mobile outage.

Apparently EE had an outage over the weekend due to a single broken fibre (great redundancy there). Anyway although EE seems to be back up Virgin seems to be having issues.

Can only get on intermittently and yet I can connect to my VPN and browse without issue (although as I've got 1mb at home it's very slow). So I suspect it's DNS or something similar.

Really annoying - only just switched from EE the other day. Might be asking for my PAC to go elsewhere again soon if this isn't sorted.

Left Virgin Media/Mobile last month, moved to Talktalk with phone, broadband and mobiles. Telephone support is just as bad, but prices are lower and everything mobile works as it should (they use Vodafone).

Incidentally, I find Vodafone mobile data coverage maps are honest, yes, there are places where it is slow and it is marked as such on the map.

EE coverage maps are fiction, at least along the train line I use, half the time in "good coverage" areas I barely get any data transfer, plus Virgin does not use 4G, it seems reserved for EE, at least in my area.

I moved from T-mobile (EE 3G) to virgin specifically because they're on EE as as much as I dislike the company I get the best coverage with them round here.

My work phone is on Vodafone and the signal is really poor. SWMBO had tesco until last month and they (O2 network) were equally as bad just in slightly different areas.

3 are looking like the next option.
