Chrome plated exhaust - FDC620001

Featured Replies

I would like to buy original chrome plated exhaust - FDC620001 for Superb 2 1.9 TDI. But I do not have information how this is mounted on the car. By welding or does it have a clamp? I would appreciate first hand answer, sincer even my dealer doesn't know this, because they haven't ordered it yet. And in description in ETKA it does not say anything how should be mounted.

Is there maybe some alternative to this original part? I prefer mounting by clamp.

Here is the picture of the part:

I will check when mine comes home from the workshop. Hopefully sometime tomorrow. Although it is a 2.0.

I think you might struggle, the 1.9 TDi has tail pipes that point down to the ground. This might cause issues when trying to slide the chrome trims over the tail pipes.

See picture number 3...

See here for some pictures on how the trims are attached to the original tail pipes. A small tag is tack-welded to the exhaust tail pipes. This is exactly how it is on the original set-up on my 2011 2.0 TDi CR140...

I think that tail pipes pointed to the ground have Superbs without DPF filter. If DPF is installed, then the tail pipes aren't pointed down.

Yeah, I've found this also, it often applies to other manufacturers too.

I guess non-DPF diesels do well to point the soot and smoke down at the road surface and not directly into the car behind!
