Vrs - Remap

Featured Replies

Hi im new to this site and im not sure if it has been mentioned before but im thinking of re-mapping my car. Has any one else on here re-mapped theyre car and encountered any issues? Before i go ahead with it i want to make sure the car and engine will be able to handle it. Mines the vrs 170 on a 09 plate. Any feedback will be greatly appreciated.

Who are you going to use? Perhaps the most important factor! Ensure you trust the company and research, research and more research. I've used a company called Collins Performance for my last 2 cars (All Fords) done by them. They had a brilliant rep and were highly rated on the Ford forums. I'm sure the guys on here will help out. I hear Shark are a good place to start.

Another vote for Shark - Loads of praise on this forum anyway.

Not used myself but if I find the cash will use them for sure.

Not heard of any issues, people start upgrading clutches but only after going above stage 1.

Definitely not all remaps are the same!

Shark did the remap on my Diesel. Its now done 110,000 miles. Along with suspension and brake upgrades, absolutely worth it.

The Shark stage 1 map works really well. Very smooth delivery but with real punch coming in just when you need it for an overtake.

They also offer a hand set so you can switch between two maps , standard and sportier. With the hand set you can also do the whole process at home.

I have used Revotechnik in the past on 2 different cars, great software and company in my experience. I've heard lots of good things about Shark performance too and although I've had work done by them I've not tried their remap, seem a really professional outfit though. There are loads more threads if you use the search in the top right of the screen.
