Parking Sensor description

Featured Replies

I have an ex police 2006 octavia 4x4. It has parking sensors installed in the rear bumper but there isn't a button for them on the centre console and there isn't a beep when I reverse. I can only assume they were disconnected when the various lights and sirens were put in or removed.

Theres a few suspect cables ending near the stereo and a cut cable in the luggage compartment behind the passenger side rear seat. Could anybody point me in the right direction to find out what parts make up the system for the parking sensors so I can try and follow the wires through the car to see exactly what I have and what I don't, and wherever its worth my while trying to reinstate them.

Thanks

There's no button if there's only rear sensors. That's one thing you don't have to worry about.

Module is by the rear wheel arch (NS), buzzer in the lower passenger B-pillar.

Sensors connect to the module, then on to the front if the car via the buzzer.

Thanks for the help, will have a look next week.

After deciding to try and trace the system from the parking sensors back to the control box and see what was missing It occurred to me that the fuse might be a good place to start. Popped in a fuse and it all works, even displays on the stereo.

Simple solutions are always the nicest.

Glad you're sorted.
