Vrs clutch

Featured Replies

Hi I'm looking at swapping my clutch I was just wondering if there any uprated ones about any options would be great

You could go for a g60 flywheel and vr6 clutch.

I've heard many reports that you get increased vibration and rattle noises from single mass flywheel, however, if you can deal with the noise, then go for it as performance wise, it will be much better.

I am not saying you will get that noise, as some people say it's fine. But it wasn't worth the risk in my case, so I went for a LUK dual mass flywheel and clutch. Had them before on other cars and they have been fine. The are an original brand that car brands use in their own cars.

Hope this helps.

Go for a genuine g60 flywheel and genuine vr6 clutch you cant go wrong the mistake people make is they buy cheap ebay specials which are rubbish, vibration only happens on diesels petrol is fine think of it this way if it vibrates on a 180bhp vrs then it would vibrate on a 160bhp vr6 its all myth and hear say,I had genuine parts from vw on my old vrs with revo remap nice light std pedal feel and no vibrations, the only time you might get vibrations is when you fit a yellow powerflex dogbone bush so I fitted a red diesel powerflex dogbone bush which is softer than the yellow bush and no vibrations .

I disagree, I've heard peoples octys (petrol) which have had rattles and vibrations after a clutch change to vr6 clutch and g60 flywheel.... It's not a myth.

I drove a G60 clutch equipped octy vRS for a while.  I don't recall any vibrations at all.  Certainly nothing compared to the mongrel anyway!   :D
