Front mounted intercooler 1.9tdi

Featured Replies

Hi guys

Just wandering if anybody recommends anywhere to buy a fmic ? (Cheaper the better but reasonable quality)

Also which ones will fit a polo 1.9tdi as I presume the fabia will be exactly the same?

Jason

I got my Airtec 'cooler off an EBay seller, but I know W8 (a forum sponsor) do sell them and there was a sale going on a while ago?

"Cheaper the better" isn't always best.

What's your power goal?

Cheers jars I'll have a look

Very true I ment like don't want to be spending megga bux

Aiming for 200bhp as I'm running a hybrid and have 150 injectors ready to go in and decat system and egr delete pipe

What you running ? And any tips for hitting my target ?

Might wanna check wether the injectors are worth it with a Hybrid. I know some running GTB Turbos and normally pushing around the 300 mark have but not come across Hybrid owners, but may be wrong :p

You can go the universal FMIC route, which is cheaper but far more thought, planning and sourcing the right intercooler pipes, couplers etc is required. I've gone with an Airtec kit with piping, although it isn't a full kit as there is no top is pipe provided, it was a quick all in one solution, easy enough for me :)

In all honesty, I have no idea what I'm currently running. Although I have changed a few bits, I'm still running an OEM clutch and she was mapped with this in mind. Once ready, she'll be turned up to around 230/40.

As for tips, your list plus a decent mapper will see you hit the 200 mark :)
