Hey guys - 2 problems

Featured Replies

First one seems to be a common enough problem. I think window regulator is gone in back passenger window. You press the window button and window comes down but won't go back up :-(

I have the door trim off, i couldn't force the window back up. I tried washing up gloves, which apparently my mother in law managed to get the window back up using the first time it came down and wouldnt come back up.

Ive tried some amount of effort and force with washing up gloves and nothing, not budging for me.

Can anyone tell me how to get it up now with the door trim off?

2nd problem i have is the drivers door won't open from the inside, only the outside. Is that a micro switch problem? I had a quick search of the forum and i presume that's what the prob is.

Thanks for your help in advance.

Ok what i wasnt told was for the window to go up, the mother in law had washing up gloves on and pushed the window up when someone else was pressing the button up and down on the drivers door. Window is now up from doing this. Does this mean that the regulator is gone?

Drivers door is probably the release cable either come off the door card attachment or snapped.

Sounds like the window regulator cable has snapped. Whip the door panel off and have a look. Be careful with the door membrane though, try not to destroy it too much.

The inner handle only pulls a cable, so it's either broken, came off, or the catch is faulty

The other problems looks like friction is stopping the glass. It could be in the window slides so look at the felt pieces that the glass slides in for signs of debris.

In the meantime you can over-ride the "trapped fingers" features that stops the window going up if it detects blocking/friction. It only works if you have the convenience module. Use the key in the driver's door and turn and hold the key in the locking position to bypass the safety feature and raise the glass.
