What to buy next after my VRS estate?

Featured Replies

The time may have come to change the VRS, loads of niggling little problems and a couple of fairly major ones including but not limited to - it needs new window motors for both passenger doors, a new central locking mechanism for the front drivers door, rocker cover gasket, 'possibly' a head gasket, the hatch is starting to rust under the glass, and half the lacquer is starting to peel off at random points all over the car!

Got £6-7k to play with, looking for something along the following lines :-

Petrol, don't want anything to do with DPF's
Practical, I'm a mountain biker so need room for my mates and associated rubbish, so 5dr hatch/estate/MPV
Economical, 30mpg+ on a run fully loaded
Relatively quick, 140bhp+ and preferably turbo charged

Mk2 VRS is top of my list, anyone got anything else they'd consider?

PS, this may all fall by the wayside if it flies through its MOT next week but I can't really see that happening...

I would go with whats on the top of your list :)

Thanks, think I might venture into the Mk2 forums for a while...

If the whole car was sold as parts in a short period of time I'd consider it, as I've nowhere to store and strip it down, but I may consider part exchanging my upgraded parts for stock parts before selling it.

As for a price for the full car, not sure, as much as possible obviously, I'd like to clear at least £1000 by stripping or selling it outright, but you'd need to see it beforehand to judge how much work needs doing, although it does have 13 months MOT and is perfectly serviceable!

I could b interested in part ex/swap for some parts depending what and price etc. Not too far away so let me know what you decide!

Mazda 5 2.0 Sport, big boot, sliding doors, good looking 34mpg fully loaded.
