Its the ebay saga 2!!! The bidder strikes back!

What does someone / everyone reckon to these speakers and their suitability to stick in the doors of my Fabia...? I don't want to turn other interested people away from bidding on them, but I'd really like it if I could get these, if they're good enough and fit in my car. You know how mad I get when I end up bidding more money on something than I really want to.

Now, someone in the ICE section was talking about these speakers from MCS direct... Which leads me to believe these would be pukka in my doors.

I'm not much in the know about ICE but I did notice when looking at the front speakers that they were riveted in place.

Are yours Jason - could make things a bit more difficult?

riveted? bloomin 'eck! - I hope not, but I've never had the door panel off to look TBH. Anyone else know how easy it is to remove the old speakers, and secure (securely) new ones like the above?

btw door card plastic rivet popper things break easily so be prepared!

I'm sure the rivets could be persuaded out, but it may have screws on yours instead.

rivets easy get a drill bit same size as the rivet and drill the head away and then the speaker should drop out back in however not sure poss rivet back into the same hole or make new holes chewing gum and fag ash?

You might need to get a new surround for the speakers because of the size of the speakers i know i did with 6 1/2 inch ones but it sould be well worth it for 170 watt speakers and the door panel is a pain to get off if you have got manual windows.

electric windows. I forgot to look at the size [moment away] - 6.5 inches (oo-er). Anyone know how big the original Fabia door speakers are? - I think I heard 13cm somewhere, which means the Kenwoods are an extra 3cm... Will there be any conflicts I wonder - damn this indecision with only 11 hours to go in the auction!

i would go for it you are only going to have to pay out about 20 quid for a bigger surround but it will be worth it.

bigger surround? - that sounds ominous. Well - if you guys are all online at around 7.30 tonight - I'll see what everyone reckons then - I think the auction finishes at 19.53 BST, so I'll be online around that time keeping tabs on proceedings... if you get onto autoleads they will supply you with the approprate surrounds these are the same ones that i have got and the door panel fits on fine after all that's what they are designed to do. and if you don't want them i might just put a bid in for myself.
