General PC Question...

Featured Replies

I run InterVideo Home Theatre as thats what my TV card came with. I use the software for watching telly and recording telly to hard drive.

However - it also opens picture files, and has defaulted so that all picture files auto open with Home Theatre.

It annoys the hell out of me  And the icon is really pants :thumbdwn:

Any help would be gratefully received!

Settings - control panel - folder options - file types

You can then change the default program

Open a copy of Windows Explorer, goto the Tools menu then Folder Options. Click the File Types tab and browse to each of the file types you want to change, e.g. JPEG. Click Change then browse to the application you want to use. Clicking on the Advanced tab will allow you to change to whatever icon you like.

HTH,

Steve

Also you can click once on an image file then hold down shift and right click. Pick open with from the menu, then choose program. Choose the program from the list and tick always use this to open these files. Nifty little shortcut
