hi all,hope someone can help me,i have a 1996 skoda octavia 1.9tdi.over the past few months the reverse gear grinds when you try to engage it,ive change the gearbox oil but still the same,it only does it when the car has warmed up,does not do it when its cold.hope someone can help,thanks in advance.

Hi,its carlube EP75w90,i got it from andrew page they said it was the right one,now its not as bad ad it was but its still not right,have you got any sugestions please as it jas got me stumped,thanks.

People have had problems using gear oil other than the proper VAG stuff.

 

Have you done the alignment thing on the gear linkage on top of the gearbox?  There are quite a few threads, have a look at this one for example:

Try TPS in derby, opposite Roller world.

Hi,ive had a look at the threads and at my car,the cables on my car seem to be different.it doesnt look like there is any adjusters on them.my car is a 1996 1.9 tdi.would the cables be diffent on my car.
