Rust on bottom of coil springs?

Featured Replies

Hi,

I replaced both front coil springs ,about a year ago after one broke. I have noticed that the bottom of the springs ,and the springs mounting has started to rust.I believe it is because the saucer shaped collects water, even though there are slotted drain holes in it. I thought of spraying it with motorcycle  spray grease ( which is fling proof),to limit the rust.

Any ideas on this please?

thanks
