Hi all, does anybody know if it's possible to fit a mk3 vrs steering wheel to a mk2 57 pre fl octavia? Or is it just cheaper to take my original to royal steering wheels for a trim?

It is posible. But it will not be cheap. You will have to buy a new airbag for the steering wheel.

to fit a Maxidot from a FL octavia

change the buttons on the wheel to superb or yeti versions

 

and you would need a CH controller, Airbag and mf loom

Yea I figured the mk3 is too expensive at moment. I got offered £240 for a flat bottom with dsg pad mk3 on eBay

So guys after a hard look I've managed to source a FL non-mfsw for my mk2 vrs. Is there anyone on here willing to fit it for me? I need to get the airbag and loom but not sure if I need a new controller. I live near heathrow but visit lancashire now and then so can commute if needed. Cheers

Never heard of it being done and not sure if I'd want to be the first to try

 

I agree that the rear of the airbags look very similar if not identical on the pre-FL and FL - at least from the ones on ebay so you might get away with it.
