PID Problem

Featured Replies

Today when I plugged the PID into the Citigo it did not connect to the GPS or to Car Info And Status. I switched off again and disconnected /reconnected. Still nothing. After around 10 miles it found some satellites and accepted Navigation. BUT, without any voice directions. Around 30 miles later the voice chimed in. I tried Car Info again and it began displaying mileage/fuel data, but trip mileage was zero, not 40 miles and time ago.

Any suggestions of fault finding solutions anyone? It is only 5 months old.

I have not connected it to Fresh programme for a month for updates yet.

I'm guessing it's something to do with the problem I had re post below.

Not the iphone connection but the unit losing it's charge. Reason for this is the unit when removed from it's mount goes into standby mode, the screen switches off but unit stays on. Then when you want to use it again left in standby it may be flat. It needs to regenerate the battery once fixed to the car again, hence it may take a while to wake up with info. Having said all this it should be up and running again once in the car after a few minutes. A reset of the unit (bottom edge on the Navigon) usually sorts any volume or bugs that can occur from time to time.

Thanks Mick. I thought it was switched off, not on standby. Did not check battery level, although I should because the battery gave problems when new and took a while to build up to a proper charge. It would not start then because of flat battery when new. Forgot about that.

I need to monitor the unit more carefully. Thanks again.

No problem with it the last couple of days. I did try Fresh for updates but it is up to date.

If it's a Navigon there won't be anymore updates as its memory isn't big enough. Mine got changed for a Garmin under warranty and that has a much bigger memory.

It is Garmin. New in April. Battery should be OK, but is it? Will test how long it lasts in pedestrian mode.

The battery is not holding the charge long even when switched off. Guess it will be a warranty item.
