nokian-wr-a3 winter tyre any good?

Featured Replies

Anyone used these on a vrs? There are lots of amazing reviews for these out there but can anyone say what they are like in Octavias please?

I used the WRG2 and they were brilliant

Yes they are!

Though mine never went below 0 degrees

And no snow last year :-(

Well there was some - but lasted like 2mins

I bought these last year and they are brilliant. Can't compare with other brands tyres as I have only fitted Nokian. Good customer service too, they have replied to my emails promptly.

Bought a set in 225/45/17 and fitted to a set of wheels for winter use on my vRS.  As others have said there was no snow last winter (well not in Gloucestershire) but there was a noticeable improvement in grip on wet roads at low temperatures.  My only experience of winter tyres in the UK and I shall be swapping wheels again as soon as temperatures drop.

Just ordered a set yesterday for my dad's Yeti.

Same as above really. First set of winters used last year.

Loads more grip on wet roads, but no snow last year so no experience there.

Wear was good too. I drive 50 miles a day on the commute.

Thanks for your help I think they are a good bet.

They are very good. I have used them in heavy snow in the past on a different car and put a new set on my vrs last winter.

You don't need snow to see the benefit, they have much more grip than the stock continentals in cold weather.
