Sorry....but is anyone familiar with kangoo 1.5dci boost leak?

Featured Replies

As the title suggests, I know its not a mk1 octy but the renault forums are naff compared to this! So I'm hoping some of you nice chaps might have had a kangoo and know the problem! Get a loud whoosh under acceleration, still drives fine and pulls ok ish, thought it was normal as it came like that, but after a remap the dyno showed no more power at all so leaking somewhere.

Id of thought if their had been a loss of boost or some sort of leak the re-mapping company should of flagged it up before relieving you of ur money for a re-map

Get it smoke tested

+1 - Any boost leaks I've experienced have been accompanied by loss of power and massive over-fuelling leading to black smoke.

Examine the turbo - intercooler (if applicable; I normally avoid Renaults) - manifold pipework, particularly at the joints.

Maybe not a boost leak? Maybe air leak before the turbo? No black smoke but is down on power from standard, had an economy map which would give a bit more bhp too, and I know the guy. there were no fault codes, and I have the option of full refund if I want to go back to standard  so  not worried about that. Thought about smoke test, might get it done.

i wouldn't have bought it now, but it was 2 months before I caught VAG fever.

Might be worth looking at the turbo itself, if seen a few where the nut comes off the end of the turbo allowing the impeller to spin free,

Check the EGR valve, very prone to getting stuck in the open position

I too would be checking the egr. Then the piping from turbo to intercooler

OK cheers for that, will have a gander at the egr too.

I work for a Renault specialist, I've even seen the inlet manifolds blocked with soot and carbon from the EGR system
