tyre rubbing?

Featured Replies

Took the car for its mot the other day. Outside is a mini island. I put the car to almost full lock at a fair bit of pace and heard what sounded like tyres rubbing on the arch. I have ap coilovers wound down to 5 threads from the bottom, standard vrs wheels and I put 5mm spacers on because the tyre looked pretty close to the spring seat. Also tyres are the standard size. Is rubbing to be expected from this setup? When stationary the tyre doesn't touch anything from lock to lock.

Yes it will rub as you have thrown all of the cars body weight on to that one side mine scrapes when driving normally I don't like scraping

The lower ride and wider track you go, the more likely rubbing is on high G high lock.

I want to use it on track so I can do without rubbing. I thought id of been fine with standard wheels and tyres.
